ISIC MEMBERS IN KENYA GAIN A NEW EXPERIENCE WITH NAICCON.

ISIC Members in Kenya now have an opportunity to experience Comic Books, Gaming, Animation and Film at a different level, with the entry of Naiccon Limited as a partner. NAICCON is an acronym for NAIROBI COMIC CONVENTION MOMBASA COMIC CONVENTION KIDS CONVENTION a platform which was founded back in 2014, for creatives in the digital arts to Enhance, Collaborate and Showcase in order to reach a global audience. The concept started with one event in Nairobi, but has since become a household name in Kenya with events in several cities across the country.

Over the years Naiccon has provided a platform to showcase local and international comic book content, while for both Game Developers and Gamers they provide a gaming competition series that brings gaming enthusiasts together in a 4v4 tournament COD Tournament – PSG Elite. On the creative field in animation, Naiccon has brought together 2D & 3D animators to sharpen it for international consumption and are currently planning to host the inaugural African Animation Festival. According to one of the founding directors – Ann Ndanu, “COMMUNITIES” are the heart of NAICCON Comic book lovers, cosplayers, film-movie lovers, anime/manga lovers, animators, gamers, streamers, Illustrators, animators and this where they find value in participating in the annual Nairobi Comic Convention which is scheduled to happen on the 18th – 19th of November 2023 at the Sarit Centre in Westlands, Nairobi.

The relationship between ISIC Kenya and Naiccon Limited, started with joint activations in July 2023 where Naiccon awarded ISIC members a 10% discount on entry fees into the annual Kids Convention “KidsCon” which was held at The Diamond Plaza on the 19th of August 2023. During this event, children had an opportunity to interact with various elements across the creative process of drawing comic books, coding gaming apps, the creative process of animation of cartoons and film. As the partnership continues to grow, Naiccon and ISIC Kenya have aligned to work together on the upcoming Nairobi Comic Convention as both parties continue to grow their brands respectively.
